How to make focaccia italian bread

If you want, you can enrich the top of the bread with the vegetables and herbs you want, such as chopped tomatoes, purple onions, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, capia pepper and cheese.

Ingredients:

For pre-fermentation:

  • 1 pack of instant yeast / 7 grams
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • Half a glass of warm water
  • 1.5 teaspoons of sugar

For dough

  • 4 glasses of flour
  • 1.5 cups of warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • pre-yeast

Topping:

  • 10-15 cherry tomatoes
  • fresh rosemary
  • dry thyme
  • coarse salt
  • purple onion
  • olive oil

Preparation:

To prepare the pre-yeast, we mix all the flour, sugar, warm water, yeast in a bowl and wait for 15 minutes. When it swells, it is ready for the dough.

Let's mix the flour and salt, add the yeast mixture on it and knead the warm water well, it will be a soft dough.
Let the dough rise for at least 1 hour. Dough doubles at room temperature.
We put greaseproof paper on the bottom of my big round pyrex, pour 2 tablespoons of olive oil into it, take our dough into it, and roll the dough with our hands.
We cover it and make a tray yeast for 15-20 minutes.
We drizzle olive oil on it, lubricate our hands, dip it with our fingers, and shape the bread.
Then we put coarse salt, cherry tomatoes, rosemary, thyme, purple onions on it.
Arrange the tomatoes and onions by dipping them.
We bake it at 190 degrees in the preheated upside-down setting until golden brown.
