It's with mozzarella sticks or fried mozzarella sticks that I suggest you start the week with this easy and super quick recipe to prepare for a snacking lunch, which children always like to delight them.

The breaded mozzarella baked fried a bit like donuts. A really easy recipe is ready in no time. You can use ball mozzarella or the one sold in large paving stones, more practical to cut if you want to obtain regular sticks.

Tip for crispier breadcrumbs

For a crispier breading, I add a small amount of corn starch to my flour, although Japanese panko breadcrumbs are well known for their light and crispy breading. It is also these Japanese breadcrumbs that I use to bread my Milanese cutlets.

Also, to make these mozzarella sticks more fragrant, do not hesitate to flavor the breadcrumbs by adding aromatic herbs such as basil, oregano, thyme, parsley, etc ... With fine herbs or herbs from Provence, you are sure to obtain Provençal scents that will titillate your taste buds. For more flavors, I suggest an extra pass in grated Parmesan, this will accentuate the taste of the mozzarella.

A recipe I found on the supertoinette site and slightly modified to suit my daughters. Presented with mayonnaise or ketchup sauce, these breaded cheese nuggets will make a great complete meal.

Today I am offering you the recipe with real Italian mozzarella cheese, but know that with goat cheese slices, you will get an equally tasty variant. And it also works with portions of Laughing Cow, Camembert.

Ingredients :

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 50 ml of water (or milk)
  • 1 glass of panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 little pepper
  • 80 gr of flour
  • 40 gr of cornstarch
  • Frying oil
  • 300 gr of mozzarella chee

Instructions :

In a small bowl, beat the eggs in an omelet with the water.
Mix the panko breadcrumbs (or powdered sandwich bread) with garlic salt and pepper.
In another bowl or deep plate, combine the flour and cornstarch.
Cut out mozzarella sticks.
Coat each stick by giving the first pass in the flour mixture.
Remove the excess flour then roll in the beaten egg mixture and finally in the breadcrumbs.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer.
immerse the sticks, fry, and brown for about 30 seconds, and remove.
Once cooked, drain on paper towels.
Serve immediately very hot to appreciate the melted cheese.
Serve the breaded sticks with fries and a green salad

Notes
Respect the cooking time because the mozzarella may cause projections in the oil by emptying its stick if it is overcooked.
Small tip to prevent it from emptying, put the pieces of mozzarella in the freezer.
